Sarah Brittain is the founder and principal designer of Sarah Brittain Design. Born and raised in sunny, South Florida, Sarah graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2008 with a B.S. in Interior Design. After initially working in high-end European and mid-century classic furniture sales, she went on to start her first interior design company based in Boston. During her time working in New England, she transformed classic city brownstones, suburban homes and modernist condos with each of her client’s individual styles in mind.
After having her first baby in 2013, Sarah relocated her design business back to Florida, and now lives in Sarasota where she enjoys working on new projects and spending time outside with her family.
Sarah’s design motto is the same as that of her late, interior-designer grandmother; "Lighting is the single-most important element in a room. Get the lighting just right and the rest will follow."

Sarah Bzibziak graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Kent State University in 2011. As an Associate Designer with Sarah Brittain Design, she works to provide exceptional customer service while creating beautifully designed spaces. She has a strong drive and passion to provide each client the opportunity for their dream home to become a reality.
Sarah initially started working in high-end residential design during her senior year at KSU, but then transitioned to commercial design when she moved back to her hometown, Buffalo NY. She has held a variety of design positions working at a Herman Miller Dealership doing new and existing office design as well as custom architectural product design with Spinneybeck FilzFelt (Knoll) and most recently custom high-end office furniture design with DatesWeiser (Knoll). Her previous experience, while very fulfilling, confirmed that her true passion was transitioning back to the world of high-end residential design.
Growing up in Buffalo NY, Sarah is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan! She loves the outdoors including beach and water sports. Her life would not be complete without travel and new adventures!

Jonathan C. – entire Home Remodel
My wife and I took the plunge on the total renovation of a 60-year-old house in South Tampa in 2019 – luckily, we had Sarah to guide our every step. Sarah came highly recommended, and we now understand why. She took a house stripped down to the studs with an out-of-date layout and completely reworked the space, redesigning the kitchen, main floor spaces, lighting and electrical, bathrooms, bedrooms, and everything in between. She worked to draw out and incorporate our vision in every finish detail and FFE selection – from cabinet hardware to lighting color temperature. She even helped out on landscaping. She made a drab, old house into a modern, warm, incredible space for our family. I cannot recommend her enough.
TUTHILL ARCHITECTURE – ENTIRE HOME REMODEL
I have worked with Sarah on a luxury home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The home had a mid-century vibe with a more current feel. I have to say that Sarah's ‘designer’s eye’ and professionalism made the interior truly beautiful and unique. The interior was masterfully executed with every detail, material, and color quietly working together to make wonderful spaces. She was a delight to work with and listened well. I highly recommend Sarah Brittain Design.
TREVOR HOLMES - MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL REMODEL
Sarah, was extremely easy to work with and provided great design concepts for my urban loft project. We converted an old warehouse into a 44-unit loft building. Sarah provided the lighting, color scheme, and flooring material design for the project. She worked within the given budget, which is always a plus for a developer. The finished project is fantastic!
C.B. Hughes Design – Multiple Projects
I worked with Sarah at her interior design firm, Sarah Gwaltney Interior Design, for two years, as a designer. We worked together on many residential projects, that ranged in size from decorating childrens’ nurseries to renovating entire condos. Sarah is an extremely professional designer with strong communication skills that clients and vendors both appreciate immensely. During our collaboration, she approached each job with confidence, conceptualizing new ideas, problem solving each project, selecting all of the furnishings, finishes and fixtures and overseeing all of the work.
